From the creator of Desperately Seeking the Exit comes the delusionally optimistic cruise ship entertainer Lance! He's hosting a musically twisted chat show with guests Liza Minnelli, Hugh Jackman and Miami Sound Machine. But will they show?

The trauma of a 5* review & why I don't like fauning

Maybe absurdism and 'outa left field' comedians are starting to make inroads into mainstream media consciousness. Even if I have no idea what 'outa left field' actually specifically means.

Cabaret in Edinburgh is going from strength to strength

A welcome addition to the Edinburgh Fringe has been the continued growth of cabaret, so much so that it has, for the past few years, had its own section in the Edinburgh Fringe brochure. A valuable art form, it is frequently neglected, rarely getting the proper acknowledgement it deserves.

More details

Peter Michael Marino's newest creation is here. Meet Lance (like Madonna is just Madonna, Lance is just Lance)... a delusional cruise ship entertainer, celebrity stalker and pathological musical theatre fanatic.

After a 15-year hiatus from the cabaret world, Peter Michael Marino's alter ego character Lance makes his Edinburgh Fringe debut with his very own variety chat show, Late with Lance!

He's invited Liza Minnelli, Hugh Jackman and Miami Sound Machine as celebrity guests - and that's surely bound to happen. This solo show/chat show spoof with a musical theatre twist features very silly sketches and witty rapport, original song parodies, The Sound of Music performed in 5-minutes, an homage to the film Fame, and many more ridiculous surprises.

About Lance

Lance got his first taste of fame the moment he was born on the ice in front of hundreds of confused families during an ice rink show in Milwaukee. Following several failed auditions for NYC's High School of Performing Arts (Fame) and countless rejections from dozens of Off-Off-Off-Broadway shows, Lance was cast as the head of Big Bird in Sesame Street Live - On Ice!

After Lance was let go for "not giving good head", he began stage managing and understudying for the Broadway musical-themed ice shows on his two gay dads' cruise ship, the S.S. Spectacular. Since he's never been on a chat show, nor will be ever be, he's hosting his own - Late with Lance!

Peter Michael Marino

Peter Michael Marino is the creator of Desperately Seeking the Exit which played to critical acclaim at the 2012 and 2013 Edinburgh Fringes before a London transfer and world tour. This solo comedy recounted his tale of writing the flop Blondie musical Desperately Seeking Susan.

Pete created the critically acclaimed cabaret spoofs Lance Jonathan: "All About Me! and Lance Jonathan: More About Me! - which rocked NYC's cabaret circuit in the mid-90s and led to a Backstage Bistro Award for Outstanding Achievement and a number of MAC Award nominations. In addition to directing dozens of solo comedies, Peter is the creator of SOLOCOM at The PIT which has launched the debut of over 150 solo comedies.
