Wireless Theatre present eight new radio plays about couples who have changed the world, to be performed and recorded live in front of an audience at the Pleasance, King Dome.

Note: only four of the shows are comedies. Punch and Judy; Trench Kiss; Dr Karl Kennedy and Tywin Lannister; Adam and Eve and Eric.

18th August: Punch and Judy by Ann Theato
In the middle of the 17th century, the theatres were forced to close, street entertainers were jailed, and non-religious music strictly regulated. The story of Punch and Judy.

19th August: Laura and Michael Dillon by Faye Hughes
A dark and moving biopic recounts the volatile and secretive relationship of Laura and Michael Dillon and the impact of the world’s first successful female to male sex change.

20th August: Tabitha and Stephen King by Stuart Price
Sixty six years. Thirty Five Million Words. One hundred and eighty film and TV adaptations. Seventy Nine novels. One unstoppable writer. One inspirational wife.

21st August: Adolf Hitler and Henry Ford by Stuart Price
Henry Ford is famous for making cars. Adolf Hitler is famous for murdering Jews. Their link exposes the shocking level of anti-Semitism found on both sides of the Atlantic in the early 20th century.

22nd August: William Shatner & Nichelle Nichols by Gareth Rubin
Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Uhura defy orders from studio executives and become the first inter-racial couple to kiss on an American TV series.

23rd August: Trench Kiss by Arthur Smith
An extra special recording of Arthur Smith’s touching comedy Trench Kiss made famous by Caroline Quentin and Ben Miller.

24th August: Dr Karl Kennedy and Tywin Lannister by Rebecca Boley & Jonny McCartney
A new black comedy, which exposes the dangers of post-apocalyptic world orders led by Dr Karl Kennedy from Neighbours and Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones.

25th August: Adam and Eve and Eric by Terrence Newman
The unexpected outcome when an upset Eric met an irate Eve was then to define relationships for all time.
