Critically acclaimed sketch comedian (with KWAT), improviser and children's entertainer (with Dreamcatcher Parties), Maddy Carrick brings her first solo comedy children's show to the Edinburgh Festival.

The hapless Marvellous Maddy is having her worst day ever. It's her birthday and nothing is going to plan. Snotty Polly Poppins has told the world's worst lie at school: that the actual, real-life, One Direction are going to make an appearance at Marvellous Maddy's birthday party at the weekend. What the heebee jeebees?!? How is Marvellous Maddy going to invite Harry Styles over to share a bag of hula-hoops with her and her mates in just 5 days?

Join Maddy as she tries to solve the world's worst-ever problem, and, along the way, meet her sick, pranking bro Dangerous Dom, DJ Fresh Fruit and Veg (the cringe DJ who puts the play in your five-a-day), and bonkers Aunty, Psychic Janey.

Maddy trained at Drama Centre London and Royal Holloway, University of London. She has also spent time at both New York University and studied comedic farce at the Vakhtagnov Theatre School in Moscow, Russia. Maddy is part of the highly successful sketch trio KWAT and is the founder of the wonderful children's entertainment company Dreamcatcher Parties. Maddy is also performing her solo character show, Maddy's Carrickters at the Free Festival venue Loft at The Counting House, July 31 - August 25.
