From award-winning Gaulier-trained clown and creator of smash hit Squidboy (Sold Out and nominated for a Total Theatre Award 2013) comes Trygve Wakenshaw's new physical comedy, Kraken. Beautifully strange stream-of-consciousness idiocy. Winner: 2014 Edinburgh Underbelly Award. Nominated: Barry Award for Best Show, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, 2014. Nominated: Golden Gibbo Award, 2014. 'An hilarious hour of inspired physical comedy... Universally enchanting, enticing and enriching. Wakenshaw's physicality is perfect.' (Steve Bennett, Chortle.co.uk). 'Delirious and surreal physical comedy...Boundlessly absurd' ***** (Age). 'Kraken is crackers' ****½ (Herald Sun). 'Beautiful madness' **** (SBS).

Preview: 10 Edfringe shows I must see in week two

More details

It's been a huge year for the award-winning master clown Trygve Wakenshaw. The critically acclaimed Squidboy continues to take the festival circuit by storm and now Wakenshaw returns with a brand new show - Kraken. The show has already earned Best Show at the New Zealand Comedy Festival as well as the coveted Underbelly Award at this year's Adelaide Fringe.

Kraken takes its name from the legendary sea monster said to dwell off the coasts of Norway, where Wakenshaw spent time developing the show. Kraken, bolder and more anarchic than it's predecessor, is stream-of-consciousness physical idiocy where Wakenshaw is stripped to his essence (literally twice) in a
"cross between Jim Carey and Dr Brown" (The Guardian).
