Full press release
Acclaimed Oxford-based improvised comedy group, The Oxford Imps, returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year for their tenth Fringe run. This August, The Imps' Class of 2013 will cram twenty-seven shows with their established brand of quick, clever, clean improv comedy - each show will comprise short scenes, games and songs, culminating in a twenty-minute improvised story taking the form of Shakespearean play, Broadway musical or Soap Opera episode. To sum The Imps' 2013 offering up in three words: pun and games.
The Imps has a rich history of creating ensemble productions - The Imps have performed across the UK, the USA and Europe - from Oxford to Chicago to Bosnia and back again, The Imps have been doing spontaneous funny things for years. Recent successes include a month touring the USA in 2012 and a sell-out series of improvised Shakespeare plays at the Burton Taylor Studio, Oxford, already in 2013.
Formed in 2004, The Oxford Imps already have a proven pedigree of nurturing individual comic talent - past Imps include (So You Think You're Funny? winner Ivo Graham, BBC New Comedy Awards finalist Chris Turner, as well as members of acclaimed professional improv companies Austentatious! An Improvised Comedy and Racing Minds.)
