What can a sexless middle aged married man, whose life now consists mainly of watching Scooby Doo cartoons with a four year old boy, possibly find to write comedy about? Formerly stand-up's youthful iconoclast, Lee now gawps blankly at News 24 as Britain burns down around him and blinks weirdly at the vast wayside retail outlets during endless journeys to and from increasingly indistinct provincial theatres. Once he lived on the pleasure planet. Now he is trapped in Carpet Remnant World. And so are you. 'Superlative' (Metro). 'Marvellously funny' (Observer). 'Masterful' (Telegraph).

Having played to over 80,000 people during a sold-out twelve week London season and a 50 date UK tour, Stewart Lee]'s [i]Carpet Remnant World which appeals "to both the comedy anoraks of Lee's core audience and, whisper it quietly, new converts" (Chortle) reaches its apogee in an uncharacteristically taut 75 minute edit on the Fringe this August.

"Marvellously funny: mordant, thoughtful and crafted" Observer

Formerly stand-up's youthful iconoclast, Stewart Lee has reached premature middle age. What can this man, with his expanding girth and failing eyesight, whose life consists mainly of watching Scooby Doo cartoons with a four year old boy, possibly find to write comedy about? Lee now gawps blankly at News 24 as Britain burns down around him, and blinks weirdly at vast wayside retail outlets during endless journeys to and from increasingly indistinct provincial theatres. Once he lived on the pleasure planet. Now he is trapped in Carpet Remnant World. And so are you.

"a deeply unpleasant slimepit of bitterness" Jan Moir, Daily Mail

Stewart will be collaborating on a new alternative comedy series for Comedy Central filmed at Edinburgh's iconic comedy venue The Stand in July 2012 and slated to air Autumn 2012 and will then begin work on his new series of Comedy Vehicle for BBC2 to be broadcast early in 2014.

"A true artist of comedy, his show Carpet Remnant World, was meta funny. He delivered material that he had told us he was struggling with and we cracked up over his despair at its awfulness, lost in convoluted layers of knowingness and belly laughs" Grayson Perry, Observer
