'Few since Spike Milligan have had Tom Bell's ability to flip us into unexpected comic universes' (Guardian). A spoof Hollywood-style reboot from half of Tommy and the Weeks. 'One of the full-on funniest hours I can remember spending' ***** (Scotsman), **** (Chortle.co.uk), **** (Fest). Stand up, sketches, big explosions. Tom Bell is one of life's natural sowers of joy. 'He's marvellously at ease on the stage, zingy, confident and somehow adorable all at once' ***** (ThreeWeeks), 'Truly high quality, a master class in timing' (Scotsman).

An interview with Tom Bell

Tom Bell is a critically acclaimed comedian who plays both comedy festivals and club gigs, as well as more and more TV and film work as word spreads of his surrealist talent.

More details

Our favourite Technicolor, cardigan-wearing, wide-eyed stand-up Tom Bell has been snapped up by Hollywood and rebooted. A gritty new re-imagining of all the best moments of Tom Bell's life from his childhood through to early gigging and to storming success at the Festival. Imagine our 'mittens wearing indie-kid' (Metro) played by Liam Neeson. On a bad day.

Stand-up, character sketches and explosions. A brand new show from one of the Edinburgh Fringe's best-loved cult comedians, and one half of brilliant, whimsical sketch troupe Tommy and the Weeks. An awe-inspiring physical and character comedian, the stand-up is intercut with the best Hollywood has to offer - mimed action sequences, chase scenes across the whole Tron stage and a re-enactment of Tom's entire origin story. Superman has Krypton, Batman has Gotham, Tom Bell... he's from Kegworth.

Tom has a huge, devout following at the Fringe who have taking in all of his underground, packed-out shows at the Free Fringe and his three shows at the Pleasance Courtyard with Tommy and the Weeks. He has toured extensively across the UK and Europe with Chris Addison and Lee Mack, performed alongside Graham Norton and Rob Brydon and wowed huge crowds at Glastonbury and Latitude.

He has written and performed for a number of TV and radio shows including Radio 4, BBC 3 and BBC 7, and most recently on Anna & Katy for Channel 4. You can catch him in the BBC's Dick & Dom's Funny Business and Transmission Impossible. His credentials extend to his university days where he performed as part of the Cambridge Footlights.

Tom is also an established live comedy director (Delete the Banjax, Nathan Penlington and many more) as well as a published writer of short stories and poems. He has presented talks at the Tate about art, Rude Britannia and the history of the double act.

Expect stand-up, character sketches, explosions.
