The multi award-winning maestro of suburban absurdism is back. Quite simply there is no one else like Sam Simmons. His shows are extraordinary - mind bendingly odd and full of heart at the same time. Don't miss your chance to see Australia's most original comedy creation. Winner - Best comedy, AdelaideFringe festival 2011 'a masterpiece of surreality, silliness and sadness wrapped up in a comedy performance of such passion and complexity that it approaches genius' (Scotsman), 'a cult in the making' (Scotland on Sunday) 'beautifully unshackled stagecraft ...blissfully crackerjack craziness' (Sydney Morning Herald).

Australia's multi award-winning suburban absurdist Sam Simmons is back with Meanwhile, another mind-bendingly odd, heart-warming hour that puts the mental into experimental comedy. Blending illustrations, dances, songs, props and unlikely talismans, Sam offers beautifully choreographed chaos that will leave you bewildered, amused, a little bit scared and sore from laughing.

Sam doesn't do things by halves - enter his world and you're in for quite an experience. Pitched somewhere in the no-man's land between psychotic breakdown, ground-breaking genius and outer space, a comedic trip with Sam will explore the furthest reaches of humanity - his and yours.

Last year, Sam's show Fail, a journey into the mind of a 32-year-old desperado, was a five-star success, marking him out as the alternative to straight-talking stand-up. This followed Sam's amazing 2009, which included the debut of his ABC television series The Urban Monkey With Murray Foote and his inaugural Edinburgh and Sydney Opera House outings. 2011 looks set to be an even bigger year for Sam, who has already picked up main prize at the Adelaide Fringe and was nominated for the equivalent at the Melbourne International Comedy festival.

Alongside his comedy, Sam has worked within animal enrichment at the Melbourne Zoo with elephants, seals, reptiles and small native mammals. Sam is a cult king for very good reason. If you don't trust us, find out for yourself what all the fuss is about.
