Does wearing a PVC catsuit to a children's birthday party make you a bad mother? How would you even know when your own mother stalked minor celebrities? And how did she stand a chance when her first childhood memory was of a Nazi punching her? And, you know, he probably had issues of his own. Circuit favourite Meryl O'Rourke comes to the Fringe with her first one woman show. Laugh, learn and get sworn at. Directed by Thom Tuck of The Penny Dreadfuls. 'Fantastic' (Jonathan Ross), 'Fabulous and edgy' (Time Out).

Acclaimed comedy circuit favourite and accomplished TV writer Meryl O'Rourke makes her Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut with Bad Mother... an hour of stand-up, disfunctionality and excuses for appalling behaviour.

Does wearing PVC to a children's party make you a bad mother? How would you know when your own mother spent her weekends stalking minor celebrities? But when your mother's first memory was being punched by a Nazi, can you really blame her for not knowing how to effectively impart parenting tips?

Armed with her extraordinary combination of warmth and bitterness, with a mischievous twinkle in her eye; potty-mouthed potty-trainer Meryl is on a quest to end 72 years of inappropriate parenting, join her to see how it turns out.

Directed by Thom Tuck of The Penny Dreadfuls.

Meryl has delighted comedy audiences, hosted pop concerts and recently performed at the Hammersmith Apollo, supporting Frankie Boyle as part of his national tour. A talented and sought after gag writer, she has worked on numerous flagship panel shows and comedies for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Dave. Radio credits include writing and performing her own comedy series The Hysterical Method of Conception for Woman's Hour (BBC Radio 4) and a Sony Radio Academy Award Nomination for Best Breakfast Show. An experienced journalist, Meryl is currently a feature writer for Mark "Kick Ass" Millar's new magazine CLiNT, having previously worked extensively for Time Out.
