A somewhat fluffy and predictable ending. It seemed like the threat of the previous 2 parts had gone, though I suppose that's partly to be expected. I think in the end the gambling theme didn't really mean much. Yeah, it's an easy to understand addiction but ultimately it meant nothing in this final part, besides a cheesey closing line. I think in general it kind of suffered from wavering alot between drama and fluff. Not that I don't appreciate a bit of 'light' entertainment, but at times it seemed inconsistent.

This wasn't a sitcom at all really. It was more like an episode of 'The Street' by Jimmy McGovern. Which I like, so this was OK.

I totally forgot it was on. And I have TV guide software which tells me what is on at any point on almost any channel I care to list. So that's saying something.

I can't even be bothered to download it. I'll waste my bandwidth on midget porn.

Like Early Doors, it was ultimately quite manipulative towards the end. Still enjoyable, though.

I found it quite touching. Not great, but nice enough. I thought Coogan was very believable.

Ooh, I was going to use the word manipulative. But I guess all good TV and film is. It was definitely drama rather than comedy-drama, it was fairly clear (in general terms) all the way through what would happen, and there was a bit too much God in it for me. But it was good, and Coogan and Hill were particularly good in it. The gambling thing was a total mcguffin.

I thought that this was tree-mendoze. Best thing that's been on in yonks. Nice gentle pace, good characters and thankfully not so far up its own bum that it wanted to be "cutting edge" and "in yer face"

IMO, Cash and Mealy are a formidable writing duo with just the right amount of old school & new school in their collective style.

And as others have mentioned - Early Doors 3 asap please.

I thought this was an enjoyable comedy drama, its wasn't supposed to be a sitcom and was never promoted as one. How people can't see the link between gambling and the storyline is beyond me. There were some great performances and good to see most of the ED cast in it.

I think the comedy pieces they had in it prove that the writers could easily bring back ED.

I absolutely loved it - one of the best programmes I've seen this year (Mutual Friends being my other favourite). I thought the acting was fantastic all round and agree that Cash and Mealy are a formidable writing partnership.

Personally I see the link, but it was far too fluffy and the ultimate outcome was obvious. I knew from the start the resolution would be "He didn't need to gamble, he'd already won by having a loving family". The other problem I had was the gambling problem was inconsistent. In the second part, it's destroying Bing's life and everything goes wrong. But as soon as he starts attending the meetings, everything starts going right again. I know that can be chalked up to fictional feel good whimsy, but it was just a bit too convenient.

It actually scares me that people liked this so much.

A bit too convenient that he was given help and it worked? I don't see what's wrong with that. If he started off as a gambler and finished as a gambler its not much of a story arc and therefore not much of a story.

Not right, no. I missed the final part. I was brave enough to endure the preceding two tedious humour-vacuous hours.

Must say I enjoyed this simply for what it was.

Aaron - I sometimes wonder how on earth your brain works. OK so it was mainly a drama, but there was plenty of good humour in Sunshine too. I laughed a few times. In fact I'd go as far as to say Sunshine is the best comedy drama I've seen for a few years.
