I saw an industry preview of this at the Soho Curzon last night. It's a sketch show written and performed by Alice Lowe, otherwise known as 'that broad from Garth Merenghi.'

It's a spoof shock documentary show about modern day freakishness - a mormon type character with 1000 wives, a woman trapped in her home by her overgrown hair and a young boy who starts inexplicably behaving French.

It's just one episode right now but on the strength of the pilot I'd like to see more. I laughed, quite literally, like a drain.

She was very funny in Darkplace and the Boosh. Is this likely to be on telly?

I want to see it! Now! Alice Lowe is terrific.

Depends if it's picked up or not. Rob Brydon's company is behind it so who knows?

Don't want to knock it unseen, but it does sound a rather limited premise. Mitchell & Webb did a series of sketches on a similar idea, e.g. The Boy With A Bum For A Face, and the joke got old very quickly.

Sounds interesting, I'd like to see this.

Check this out tomorrow night on BBC Three at 11pm, it's well worth leaving the pub early for. Provided you've stocked the fridge in advance of course.

Personally I would have stopped the first sketch at the reveal (half-way) and didn't really find the second one funny, but I'm still looking forward to the show
