The Beatles...wot you rek? Page 8

Re: the original question: Outstanding.

A lot of their songs are timeless. They'll sound just as fresh 40 years from now as they did 40 years ago.

Anyway, after listening to the three tracks SlagA posted, Meat City was ok

Way-hey - you a secret rocker, eh?

No, not secret at all. My taste is quite eclectic.

The Beatles were such a great group. I think that their early stuff was a bit derivative, but once they'd found own style there was no stopping them.
Unfortunately, every drab, middle-of-the-road type singer felt the need to cover their material.

Just so you know I am broadcasting two Beatles related shows over the next two days to coincide with the anniversary this week of the passing of George Harrison.

Show 1: 1-2pm Wednesday 30 November
Show 2: 8-9pm Thursday 1 December

His death anniversary is today ( as is Natalie Wood's)

Should have said yesterday as I realise it's after midnight.

Yes I know it was yesterday (now) but it took me a few days before I realised I had initially got it wrong. Mind you, it made no odds as there was never a slot available on Tuesday.

To be fair I did say 'this week' in this thread. ;)

Podcast to part 1 of the George Harrison double bill is here: http://www.podcast.canstream.co.uk/pacouk/index.php?id=2633

Please ignore the wobbly start... ;)

Tomorrow's show will be a good one - lots of funny and wacky stuff being played. :)

I Love The Beatles

Even today if you give a teenage band a copy of Revolver to listen to for the first time they will be open mouthed if they know anything about their craft.

Always liked The Beatles early stuff, just a kid at the time, remember this one.
