Kevin Eldon Page 3

Oh my good christ.

Sun 16 November - TMWRNJ Reunion Special - Many of the cast of the cult BBC 2 show get together for the first time on stage for almost 10 years. Please be aware that most of these people will be doing their current acts rather than material or characters from the show - including Stewart Lee, Richard Thomas, Paul Putner, Emma Kennedy and Trevor Lock. Hopefully Kevin Eldon will also show up, though he hasn't got back to me yet. The evening will be headlined by a short 10 minute set from defunct double act LEE AND HERRING. This is the kind of gig that only comes along once in a blue moon and will sell out first, so BOOK NOW!

At the Lyric Hammersmith.
(from the Richard Herring newsletter)

Awwwwwesome.
Just got tickets.

Any links or anything...?

Not yet, cos it was only in the newsletter, which doesn't seem to be published elsewhere...

Oh it's on his guestbook, a few posts down. http://www.richardherring.com/gb/

"Well, the Beatles certainly never took drugs in front of me . . ."

Oh, I won't watch that clip. It's brilliant but he really scares me as him.

Right . . .

What?!

Well, I assume it's the one where Kevin plays the Beatles manager guy?
He is scary when he's playing that man.
So I ain't watching it. :)

Why is he scary?

He looks like a rapist.
I dunno!
He's just indefinably scary. He's all stern and has no sense of humour. The real one too (is his name George Martin?) - in that way Kevin has been very accurate.

I like it on the DVD commentary when The Eldon goes into 'George Martin' mode again.

I listened to those Resonance FM things by Eldon last night. Some of them are really good, particularly the Space one. The one which features the poet Paul Hamilton is very funny as well. However, the 'Francais' one was skipped after about a minute and the 'Lecturer' one was just far too deep and meandering. I'd recommend giving them a listen.

How come he has been in just about every comedy show of the 90s and early 00s.

Is he just easy to get along with.

That and being very funny and good.
