The Gold Express (1955)

You wait for one comedy crime caper to come along, and like the proverbial buses, you get two. EXCEPT this one had none of the starring parts played by anyone I knew and all of them it seems disappeared from the film scene sometime in the early 60s, and can I say, I'm not surprised.

The only two I knew were the beaky tashed Bill Shine and our old friend Sam Kydd, both in uncredited parts.

The night express sleeper to London is carrying gold in the luggage van (ludicrous "secure" wire cage it was kept in), and dodgy characters try to steal it. You've never seen so many people changing places/rooms in such a tight spot as a crowded sleeping carriage, and I suppose this is where the humour is supposed to come in, especially when you throw two dotty old ladies into the mix.

Didn't laugh once, and like the previous so called "comedy crime caper", it was thankfully short.
