There Was A Young Lady (1953)

Reminded me a little bit of "Too Many Crooks" where a female gets kidnapped by a bungling and disorganised gang, but that's as far as it goes, because that film was hilarious whereas this was just OK, and in this film it's an accidental kidnap.

The long time partnership (nearly 60 years wedded!) of Michael Denison and Dulcie Gray appear yet again in this light hearted romp as the boss of an inherited jewellery business he knows nothing about and his super-efficient and very knowledgeable secretary who knows everything about gems and gets herself accidentally kidnapped by a gang of smash and grab jewellers, and he tries to find her - can't say anymore than that for fear of spoilers.

The gang being made up of Sydney Tafler, Bill Owen and a couple of actors I don't know - faces maybe but not other films they have been in.

Not a riot of fun, but quite amusing and well worth a look, if only for the period scenery and cars.
