Miss MacTaggart Won't Lie Down (1966)

Amusing short film of half an hour about a lady coming back to her small Scottish village from a visit to Glasgow, only to find that her twin sister had died on a surprise visit to see her while she was away and now had been buried as her and the resultant death certificate meant she no longer existed. She then has to resort to breaking the law in various ways to get the authorities to acknowledge the error of there ways and admit that she did of course still exist.

With Barbara Mullen in the lead and a couple of other actors I recognise from Dr Finlay's Casebook, it did have the feel of that delightful series, which I had watched on a recently purchased DVD.

An unchallenging and amusing half hour.

Will you have a wee dram docturrr ?

Och Janet, will ye no ask Dr Finlay to come in here the noo and gi' me a wank.

I expect the BBC wiped that episode.

Yes, a charming little comedy about the British sense of justice in the face of unfaltering officialdom. Nothing to write home about, but enjoyable.

Haven't seen the series but this is nice. Beautifully shot.
