Up With The Lark (1943)

A poor man's Gert and Daisy (if that's possible!! - see my review of It's in the Bag) in the shape of Ethel Revnell as Ethel and Gracie West as, er, Gracie. This is SO immemorable I am struggling to remember the plot or even if it had one! Never heard of these ladies before, so let's leave it at that.

Had to remind myself about the plot and it's like The Black Rider, but this time it's a ghost keeping people away from the doings/goings on of a black marketeer in an old graveyard. They save the day of course, and thank heavens it was a short film, which literally had no one in the cast I'd ever heard of.

Don't you know there's a war on, Herc!

There were plenty of good 'uns made during WWII. (Proper) comedy for example was satisfied by the likes of Will Hay :D
