Hi all,
Here at Clowns HQ we are looking for sketch writers. Release the Clowns is a new weekly sketch comedy podcast, producing 15 minutes or so of peak silliness every Monday. We operate an open door policy, with 4 deadlines a year - the first deadline is March 31st, and we are now actively seeking submissions.

We recommend listening to the show before submitting - this week's show is a good introduction as it compiles the best of episodes 1 to 5: You can also find us on iTunes: and on You Tube:

The style we're aiming for is classic BBC radio comedy - we won't reject anything out of hand, but we err on the side of silly, and we tend not to use sketches that are overtly obscene (unless they are really, really funny). Ideally we're looking for sketches of no more than 3 minutes or so, and obviously they need to be written with audio in mind (no elaborate sight gags).

Beyond that, we're looking for all manner of sketches and styles. Feel free to offer runners, recurring characters and anything else you fancy. Any sketches we record will remain your property, and we will do our best to respond to all writers with feedback, whether we use your sketch or not.

To submit please e-mail us at:
Use the subject Heading: Sketch Submission - March 31st deadline - Your Name

For regular updates follow us on Twitter (@clownshq) and on Facebook ( As we are young and still building an audience we are not at all embarrassed to say: if you like it, then please rate it, review it and share it as widely as possible. That way, by the time your sketches are broadcast, we'll have a lovely big audience for you!

Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions,
in the meantime, happy writing,
all the best,
Alex & nick
