There was an English comedy show on TV around 1999/2000 or so and I can't remember the name. There was a guy who was an introvert and wouldn't leave the house but in one episode he somehow ended up fronting a band and had a break down on stage. Can anyone name the show?

Can anyone name a Cowboy/Western show that was shown in the UK in the mid to late 70's, where the opening titles had a tramp thrown out a saloon, and one of the leads opened a grandfather clock and walked into a secret room?
