Oh, sorry Steve - it's about 4.5 weeks but that's at the same time as Newsjack! And 12 non topical sketches is a fair few :)

You can add this to your deadlines as well if you like... http://thetcn.com/writerslam/ :)

thanks, they did a drama one a few months back, they're offering a great opportunity. :)

For info - this series is being produced by Ed Morrish.

I assume the sketch template doc from Newsjack is the format they're looking for in these submissions?

I can't imagine they'd object if you sent it in the Newsjack format. Or this format from a sample sketch written by Tom Neenan for series 1: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/QHpjs2Q2sr6xlR49XDZGG/tom-neenan-takes-on-a-thriller

(Although best not to do your own footnotes)

I take that back

Found it hard to search for the thread though
Show what you wrote sounds like a Critique programme

Crime And Punishment is the hardest for me.

Crime And Punishment is the hardest for me.

Then stop breaking the law.

Be cool to do a few PM swaps of sketches (with people I know) to see what others have done. I was thinking of sending in my King Or Dictator sketch (the one in Critique) but it doesn't really fit any of the themes enough.

If anyone wants some very quick feedback you're welcome to PM a sketch my way. (Again it's probably best I only do this with people I know because there might trust issues otherwise).

I think the King or Dictator sketch fits nicely in the Crime and Punishment episode. Plus, it has the added bonus of not being the first thing that pops in to your head when you think of 'Crime and Punishment'.

From my experience last series, an oblique connection to the brief is enough! If it's funny, they'll fit in. One of the sketches I sent in for Geography ended up getting used in Sport and Leisure.

Does that chat up line ever work?

Ah. Cheers.
