Whatever happened to open topped charabancs as a form of holiday transport? Seems like a good idea to me.

Bet that hood was a sod to put up................................

Yes. :) Although the scene is long before even my time, it does remind me of trips to the local sea-side with me bucket and spade on the small branch line from an en-route sub railway station that was lost to progress many years ago. :(

And so friends, and I mean this most sincerely (HG), we finally come to the end of this long run of Mr Punch in Holiday Mood with the last one from this volume...........................

Volume XIV - Mr Punch on the Links

Not much interest in golf (well certainly do not play it as I found it a bit boring when my brother in law tried to get me interested in the 80s), but it is interesting to note that despite its earlier invention, golf tees only started to be used regularly in the 1920s when prior to this little piles of sand were used to tee off, as will be seen in some of these cartoons. We start with the Frontispiece and Artists as usual.

** Quite a few Bateman in these beaky...............

Being a player since I was 11, I'll look forward to these.

Might bring some memories back as I started with clubs with wooden shafts.
(There were steel shafts, but I was given the clubs in exchange for a box of golf balls I had found)
