How can I watch episodes of Miranda?

How can I watch full episodes of Miranda by Miranda Hart?

Go out and buy the DVD.

From behind a sofa with your fingers in your ears ? !

Whilst eating cake and falling over a lot.

With your eyes.

through your fingers

There are ways to watch them if they're on IPlayer in you don't live in the UK. Unfortunately it is against BCG policy to give you such links, I believe.

Generally speaking it's cheaper to buy imports directly from Amazon.co.uk, even with the foreign transaction fee on the credit card. In this case you can get the first two series (used) cheaper from Amazon.com... but the cheapest series 3 is $78! You can get all 3 series for $36'ish dollars from .co.uk.

Either way you need a region free DVD player. Philips used to make players that were easy to unlock and are still available like this one http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005MCX4CW/comedyguide-20/ . VLC player doesn't region check DVDs on computers... but not every DVD works for whatever reason. Just last night I had no problem playing my region 2 Annually Retentive, but region 1 Little Britain wouldn't play... so we had to go into the living room where the Philips plays everything.

Region checking is in the hardware specification, not software. I.e. it's supposed to be the drive itself that checks region coding, not VLC. Very odd problem you had though - perhaps it simply didn't like the DVD for some odd reason. Or perhaps you've put in so many R2 DVDs it thinks it's an R2 drive!

I don't know, I certainly can't.

I also thought this was a comment on the quality of the programme.

According to Wikipedia it appears to be VLC and the like just ignore the region setting. I think it's worth the gamble myself since DVD quality is still better than most other alternatives. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code#Computer_DVD_drives

I think my problem may have been the fancy menus Little Britain DVDs have. I know I've had the same problem with Brass Eye, which also has a fairly showy menu.

There does seem to be a lot of anti-Miranda feeling on this website.

But I am going to stick up for her a bit.

I have to say it probably appeals more to women than men, and maybe more men than women contribute to these forums.

But we have to remember there are very few women who can "play themselves" for a whole series, and be so self deprecating. Most other women who have a comedy series, like say Catherine Tate, usually appear in character.

Miranda also breaks the "fourth wall" and talks to the camera, which is also very rare in any TV comedy.

I am not saying it is the greatest comedy ever, but I don't believe it deserves the vitriol.

I also think the episode with Miranda and her mother in the physiatrist's office for the whole episode (Just Act Normal) with Mark Heap is an excellent piece of comedy.

I find it very funny and happy-making.
