British Comedy Awards 2013

Nominees announced.

Notably, the best female TV comic nominations are utterly tragic.

Miranda Hart, Room 101 (BBC)
Nina Conti, Live At The Apollo (BBC)
Sarah Millican, The Sarah Millican Television Programme (BBC)
Sue Perkins & Mel Giedroyc, The Great British Bake Off (BBC)

Two guest appearances, a cooking show and only one actual TV comedy starring a woman.

Emma Fryer is the funniest lady around at present.

*Miranda falls over*

I am looking forward to the ceremony, I watch it every year.

Hmmmm...the nominations just show how bad comedy's been this year.

Hope Kevin Eldon wins the best actor, because he is the best. It's Kevin wasn't as good as I'd hoped it would be, though.

I had not realised that 2013 had been quite that unfunny.

Up The Women ignored completely, and I thought it was one of the funniest sitcoms this year. Oh well.

Anybody care to place predictions on who you think will win? (and feel free to mention what you think was overlooked).

If enough people can take part, we might be able to do a feature trying to calculate what the hive mind thinks should win ('hive mind': that sounds sinister doesn't it!)

Wow, the mods have a feckin' cheek, changing the URL in my post to a comedy.co.uk one, with no indication that it's even been edited.

I wasn't aware of this, although obviously it'd be nice Kevin if you did support BCG and read stories on here, rather than the less detailed versions on other websites ;) 'News' tab is only ever one click away.

Two days to comedy awards now... I've voted for Lee Mack!

When are the BCG awards?!

I'd vote Zawe Ashton and Jack Whitehall in their respective acting categories.

I'd vote Zawe Ashton

Definitely.

Parking Pataweyo signing Paul Whitehouse -- instant classic moment. I actually guffawed :)

Harry and Paul, as best sketch show!!!!!
What a load of nonsense. The BCA have jumped the shark!

Erk. I have an irrational dislike of Nina Conti.
I'm sure she's nice in real life though.

Daniel signing was hilare, I agree!
