Looking for writers for new satire news site

hello!

we are looking for writers for the upcoming news satire website www.thecodpiece.com

the website is due to go live early next year and we are looking to work with writers to help populate the site with content.

we are looking for writers who are non partisan. we need people who are comfortable taking on the left and right of the political spectrum, and most definitely writers who are not afraid of tackling the sacred cows of political correctness.

all writers will have an author page on the site with links to your personal blogs and websites etc -- although, we also welcome anonymous material as well.

anyone interested or have any questions please get in touch at:

submissions@thecodpiece.com

many thanks, look forward to hearing from you.

kind regards,

:)

If it's going to be the world's greatest writing based site in taking the piss out of people you might want to consider a spell checker! ;)

V good.

And Cod Piece - Do you have a dummy site or test page you can show us so we can understand your project a little better?

Wave Could you please tell me what the reward would be, for contributing?

Paul.

hello everybody,

many thanks to all of those who have got in touch and submitted material. we have received some really funny stuff!

the same questions keep on popping up so I will try and address those here:

1: tentatively speaking, when the codpiece goes live there will be roughly 6 categories to begin with: UK news, World news, Sport, Womens, Culture and Opinion - so for those interested in submitting material please make sure it can broadly be fitted into one of those categories.

2: the format we are looking for at the moment is short www.theonion.com style news articles - we will be adding a 'featured' essay section a couple of months after launch so please send that stuff over if its what you are interested in, but for now, we will be focusing on the former.

3: at present, we are asking for voluntary submissions. so this stage of the content process is probably more suited to amateurs looking to get published or those simply wishing to scratch their satirical itch for a bit of fun -- but saying that, after we go live we will be inviting the contributors we like best to join our core team on a paid basis.

also, we really appreciate people sending in their more off-beat material but its tough for us to gauge from that kind of material if your approach is suited to the codpiece. if possible, please choose an up to date issue and give it a satirical spin from both a guardian and daily mail style point of view. easy pickings!

hope that helps but if anyone has any more questions please either post them here or contact us at: info@thecodpiece.com

please send submissions to: submissions@thecodpiece.com

hope to hear from you soon!

- What do you think of news satire sites?

- There's too many of them.

- That's one way of looking at it, another way of looking at it is, people like them, let's make some more of them.

Hello your mum, welcome to the site.

Albeit what an eccentric start. You joined a year ago, said nothing and are now energetically, if slightly agressively making your mark.

I think 'your mum' (the inverted commas being essential here) was referring to a Partridge-ism, rather than being aggressive.
