No, he passed away 5 years ago. I loved the man. He always treated me well, while he couldn't stand his daughter (for good reason.) Rest in peace, big guy.

Hundreds and hundreds. And I think you'll find that it's a French spelling. ;)

Natch.........there are lots of words of European origin in the English language and we tend to spell them as per. :)
