15 Storeys High Page 5

Just started watching this on NetFlix.

Ep 1

Errol: Why do you hate to be touched?

Vince: Do you remember Jim'll Fix It?

So ahead of its time. :)

Gold are reshowing the very first episode in the early hours of Saturday 6th September at 0:20am and 3am.

I love Sean Lock, is this sitcom any good?

Yes, yes it is. It's one of my all time favourites. Perhaps an aquired taste, but as you are already a Sean Lock fan you will probably like this.

Don't wait for Gold, buy the DVD . . . you won't regret it . . .

One thing I caught on a recent viewing was Ashley from PhoneShop as frustrated customer talking in his normal voice . . . hilarious . . .

I'll wait for Gold first to judge it, then if it is good I will consider buying the DVD!

This is one sketchy comedy, but I love it. I had seen a very short clip of it when it was once aired on UK Gold some years ago. I never followed it up until I saw it was on YouTube.

How the hell did this comedy not get the recognition it obviously deserves?

I love it. Sean Lock is definitely one of the best comedians we have around right now.

Watched this in full for the first time in too long. Very dark and very funny.

And I only just realised that (unless I've just missed something) neither of the radio shows ever got an official release. Seems like a bit of an oversight.

Thanks, but I already have downloads of them. They're not in the best quality though, which is why a CD or a digital download might be nice.

The radio series isn't repeated much but next time it is I'll record it myself. And 15 Minutes Of Misery doesn't seem to have been repeated since 2003.

Super funny, smooth smart-innovetive sitcom

So many great lines, in all three versions.

Sean Lock is one of the very few genuinely funny British comedians of the last decade or so

This is a weird tangent, but I'd like to correct a post I made about one of the vignettes.

This probably isn't it, but there was a sketch in Comedy Nation which featured a man getting upset with an Asian woman. I assume it was written by Trenaman as there's a similar vignette in 15 Storeys High.

I have most of the first series of Comedy Nation and the sketch about the man with the mail-order bride is in it. The man seems to be Simon Godley, same as in 15 Storeys High, and the woman is credited as Tymarrah.

Trenaman doesn't seem to be involved in the first series of Comedy Nation, but Godley is, and he shares a writing credit with John Irwin, so maybe it was them who wrote it, at least initially.

According to Genome the character is called 'Herman' (later, 'Hermann'). The character is very accident-prone and says 'Jesus Christ' a lot.

Bit of thread bumpage here, but BBC have now released all of 15 Storeys High on iPlayer!

Wonder how many requests they had after Sean Lock's passing?
