What are you watching on TV? Page 2,174

I've just started watching the Royal Variety Performance but I've just had to run out and get myself a bucket to be sick in because everybody is standing up to sing the national anthem.

Firstly, hardly anyone believes in God these days and so the chances of the queen being saved by a figment of a few people's imaginations are just about as slim as chances can get.

Secondly, I doubt she'll be much longer to reign over us - she's 93 FFS!

I mean, seriously folks, it's the 21st century and we're still grovelling to God and the queen? Anybody turning their telly on and seeing that load of nonsense would think they'd been transported back to 1950!

All in all it's looking like a load of bollocks but I have to say Rob Beckett and Romesh were very good in the intro.

Yay! You are my hero! To the guillotine!.

I'm not sure about hardly anybody believing in god nowadays. I reckon if you added up the number of Hindus, Muslims and catholics in the world they'd easily outnber the atheists.

You may well be right, but as far as I'm concerned, the religious stories are just cosy fairly tales. I have such a soft spot for the Christian stuff because it reminds me of happy school days, but really, it could be Alice in Wonderland

News. Greta Thunberg is bloody brilliant.

She may be bloody brilliant but what can we do to help? She should be preaching to Russia, China and India.

I'm watching Netflix because I currently have three episodes of The Jonathan Ross Show recorded but I can't find a single one I want to watch.

I remember the days when this show was one of the highlights of my viewing week but these days there are far too many guests who, in a meritocracy, wouldn't be on TV at all.

It seems it's not just me.

According to reports, the spring 2020 series of the Jonathan Ross show has been axed due to recent poor ratings.

Last Saturday's show attracted 1.2 million viewers whereas Graham Norton, on the previous evening, attracted 2.6 million.

It seems celebrities much prefer Graham's show and, indeed, I've heard a few megastars say that appearing on his show is the best fun they've ever had on a chat show - anywhere in the world.

Logically, therefore, Graham gets his pick of the interesting guests and poor Jonathan has to make do with the significantly less interesting ones.

To my mind, Jonathan himself is still as good as ever he was but I often look at the people on his show and think "Who are they?" :O

Jonathan Ross show on bbc Fridays nights was great

Now it's on itv, it's shit

Ain't rocket science

ITV = wank

I remember when anything with Jonathan Ross was unmissable because he attracted big names like Hollywood heavyweights and it was always edgy and unpredictable. Ever since the Andrew Sachs disaster he has changed in to a meek and boring host and interviewer. He doesn't have the same wit and charm he once had or ask interesting questions. It's like every guest is on his show because they have something to promote. The Graham Norton show is the complete opposite and has high energy and always top billing guests. It wouldn't be unusual to see Tom Hanks, Sly Stallone, Cher and Arnold Schwarzenegger all sitting together on the couch and having the craic. Jonathan destroyed his career when he got involved with that total bellend Russell Brand.

I remember Ross when he first appeared on Channel 4 in the 80's as being very edgy and quite entertaining .I think he was copying some of the big name American hosts.I don't know,I'm not into chat shows, myself.

It agree. I think it's the cost factor. The BBC was cheap but fun whereas ITV is too slick.

Watching Would I lie to you with the brilliant Bob Mortimer.

House of Fools Christmas Special on catch up

Casino Royals. Daniel Craig as Bond was once so fresh and vibrant, but soon became as tired and ludicrous as all the other actors who've been Bond, James Bond.

Some boring shite of an advert for some car thing called Petronas, and all I can think is - why are they wasting my time with this crap?

A discussion on Good Morning Britain about getting socks at Christmas. It's this type of lively intellectual debate that's going to make post-Brexit Britain such a success.

Tonight I have drunk wine and watched drivel on TV. The drivel was, in fact, quite entertaining.
