I quite like To The Manor Born myself.
The Piglet Files always seems to get left on the shelf. Anyone know it picks up in series 2/3?

My mum liked As Time Goes By. I'm pretty sure that's who it was aimed at.
Not Sure about 'To the Manor Born'. Not as good as 'Identity', but better than 'Supremacy', 'Ultimatum' and 'Legacy'.

That's a shame because it was one of those sitcoms I actually wanted to enjoy.
I may give it another shot when I'm at a loose end.
I really enjoy all three series. Good, slightly silly, and terribly British, fun.
Last of the Summer Wine (after about 1982, it was a little better before that and had stronger characters, but was still pretty tepid stuff)

All you need is a veneer of gritty northern realism and it doesn't matter how good it is; no-one dares criticise it for fear of being thought elitist. How many series of Bread were there? How many laughs? Exactly.
