To The Manor Born Christmas

Can anybody assist me in my query?

I have just washed the above sitcom on GOLD and am fully convinced I have seen Tommy Steele in it. The character I refer to was the footman that walked down the stairs at the end of the show and made some remark about "The canapés being ready".

This character had a Cockney accent (T.S). I have searched all the cast episodes and can find no mention of the footman or even Tommy Steele.

Please help me.

"The crudités are on the sideboard."

Definitely not Tommy, I'm afraid. About 40 years too young. And the accent's Eastern European, not Cockney. Similar teeth though, I'll give you that.

I'll wager it was Gabriel Pac, who played 'Czech Labourer'.

Did they make one Christmas special?

Did they make one Christmas special?

There was a special shortly after the first series, on Christmas Day 1979, and a further special in 2007.

I just posted this because I loved the show and would like to see more comments on it.

I'm not sure if I have seen the Christmas Special or not. Often, Christmas specials are not about Christmas at all. Could someone refresh my memory?
