I was just starting to become interested in music in 1973 and I remember every one of those albums. Good stuff.

Are these some he planned to release or just some rejects?

They're going to release an album...sort of a soundtrack to the musical called Lazarus. These new songs will be on it.

These songs were recorded during the Blackstar sessions and I think Bowie intended to put them on a full fledged follow up album...but then his health declined rapidly. Obviously there was no time to write and record enough additional material for an album. So, the record company puts these leftovers on the soundtrack as a bonus.

Just bought the new Phil Collins compilation, The Singles, the three disc version.
I'm not exactly a diehard Collins fan, BUT, I think he wrote some really good pop songs during his heydays and made good coverversions of 60/70s soulsongs.
This is the compilation I've been waiting for for the last 10 years or so because it collects all of his singles (sadly not all in their single edit) including every non album single (Easy Lover, True Colors etc) and soundtrack song (Seperate Lives, You'll Be In My Heart etc). The previously available comps all had some songs missing. This is the nearperfect collection.

Now you can all laugh at me. Go on! ;)

He released some catchy songs and seems like a good guy, so what's not to like? He's apparently one of the world's biggest experts on the Alamo, so he travels here to San Antonio every year for the anniversary. One of these years I'll try to head downtown and shake his hand.

We want to see photos if that really happens!
