Lego

Used to shove that stuff up my nostrils

Addictive, innit?

The best thing about having sprogs was that it introduced me to Lego.

Introduced you? Did you not have any as a kid? Console

No. Either it wasn't invented or we were too poor, or both.

It started in 1949 apparently, so I don't think it was that!
I reckon your parents kept it all to play with themselves.

I was three then and I never had any !

Probably all the rich Southerners had it.

Mind you, a little later on, I did have Meccano which, for a little chap, was much better.

Never did make the crane though . . .

Aw, you still can!

My kids loved it, went on to 'motorised' Lego, loved designing my own house!

I always wanted Lego but was given Meccano instead. Unfortunately I was never technical so was never interested in it.

:O That's scarily similar to me, coped okay with Lego but best of all loved that softer plastic spikey stuff that attached to each other like velcro sort of. I didn't have any building skills so they just ended up in weird shapes. I remember being given the hellishly expensive Meccano set one Christmas by my engineer dad as tho I was expected to instantly master it and be proved as worthwhile after all in his eyes. Neither happened, as it flummoxed me form minute one. :(

Stickle bricks?

That's the stuff! Loved it, the cheapest and least capable of making edifying structures out of but I just loved jamming them into each other. :) Ah, happy days.

Ooh. I'd forgotten about that stuff.
