I couldn't see a thread for it, and not entirely surprised, no offence to anyone here but I thought it may be good to have a place for people to put up their favourite/least favourite destinations, be it for holiday, business or whatever; Reviews of places you've just been to, upcoming holidays to places you've not been before or want help to make your mind up on potential destinations, modes of transport, food, anything related.

Anywhere including Britain, so if you're a big fan of Bognor or Skegness please say so. Areas, regions included, so if I want to know if it's safe to travel up north without life insurance, then if you're a northerner, please advise us. All snaps and slides welcomed. Bon voyage

I'm never really that impressed with Monaco when I go. The boats are pretty and stuff, but there is no soul to the place. The old town is like any other tourist destination, full of cheap shops selling crap, the bars round the harbour are often dirty and when ou have seen one boat brokerage shop you've seen them all.

Off to various Baltic capitals in a weeks time, Talin in Estonia is meant to be nice. Hoping to see northern lights, but we will see.

After London, Brighton is probably my favourite place in the UK. The last time I went I walked past Chappers from this very site.

In the UK you can't beat the peaks especially in the driving derbyshire rain.

Yes I've heard it described as a hideous looking concrete carpark for flash motors. Not a place I'll ever see, I don't think.

Tallin is generally well reviewed, I've been there for an hour but not got off the ferry. Places with no soul are disappointing tho yes, some cities are just like that, Oslo for one. Maybe my only visit there was mistimed on a bank holiday but talk about lifeless! Clean, spotless, tidy, but also dull, quite prim and proper and had signs saying 'Welcome to Oslo but please respect this and that'. Couldn't wait to get out of it. Like Wales on a Sunday

Aw, how to make people inclined to take part in your thread: insult them.

I've not been anywhere in bloody ages. But I recommend Singapore (despite the epic plane journey). I do not currently recommend Wales, where I was almost rained and sheeped to death last week.

I've not travelled very much but my favourite places in the world would be London and Edinburgh.

I love how in some parts of London you can walk around a corner and it's like you a in a differrent completly different place.

Not sure what exactly I liked so much about Edinburgh, the old town is amazing and the place just seems to have a good vibe. I'd love to go during the fringe.

My favourite English cities are London and Milton Keynes. And my favourite county Buckinghamshire (which is interestingly* pretty much in between the two). I'd be pretty happy living in Bucks again. Surrounded by lovely green leafy countryside, but less than an hour from the centre of London. Perfect.

*I use that word loosely.

And big doughy raisin honey balls for breakfast which I have failed to find anywhere else and still get cravings for. Stock up on food you can carry if you're a veggie, or don't do this if you want to lose nearly a stone in a fortnight.
Shanghai I adored, probably cos it reminded me of London (particularly Finsbury Park).
And you really should see the Terracotta Warriors in the, um, terracotta. Incredibly eerie.

I don't mind, I hate leaving the house anyway. Although there's quite a lot of people live in or near Finsbury Park so could be a prime specialised market. I'd read a collection of 'Places around the World that Remind you a bit of Finsbury Park'. But then I'll read anything
