Mock The Week - 2007 & 2008 Page 31

Frankie Boyle has a new website. It's very, very cool... http://www.frankieboyle.com/

(Warning: Broadband needed. Plus, as you can guess, it's not safe for work. Includes drawings of gay superhero love)

Um... did he make this for me?

It looks like Mock the Week is the latest BBC comedy series to come under fire. There have been complaints about a joke that was on the edition repeated the other night, in which in the "Scenes we'd like to see round", Frankie Boyle suggested that Queen would not say in her Christmas speech, "I have had a few medical issues this year - I'm now so old that my pussy is haunted."

The joke received four complaints. Mark Thompson on Newsnight said that the joke should be judged in the context of the whole programme. David Davis, the man who failed to be Tory leader, has asked people to hold off from paying their licence fee until the last possible moment by way of protest.

The funniest joke on Mock The Week. Made even funnier.

For the first 15 seconds the guy is thinking "Please don't say pussy, please don't say pussy, please don't say pussy".

I hope they ban it.

In fact ban all comedy.

I hate jokes anyway.

Ah Emily, haven't you come a long way since your days on BBC London. :)

That's the only time Boyle managed to offend me really. Which is how he gets his laughs anyway, saying shocking, rather than genuinely witty things. I don't think he's that good a comedian. David Mitchell outshines everyone when he goes on Mock the Week.

He doesn't just say shocking things though, it's just they're the things people remember.
He says some wonderfully surreal things too. And is very quick witted, in my opinion. :)

David Mitchell is great too though, I agree.

Wow that was funny, especially when she said it second time.

Agreed. Mitchell is better, but Boyle can be witty and not rely on offensive material as well.

My personal favorite, talking about the super collider... "Scientists are now doing an experiment to find out what makes up protons. I hope that if this experiment is successful, the whole of our reality will dissolve, and a big sign will come up that says... Level 2."

Oh, and when does this show come back? Or does it?

If only you were on a website that provided a guide to British comedy ;)

It's back for a Christmas special and then, no doubt, a series next summer.

Nice to see that nobody has dared to tell Frankie Boyle to tame his jokes for this new Christmas special. He's just as rude and filthy as ever. Check out the preview video on our guide to the episode...
