The Bleak Old Shop Of Stuff

Can't wait to see this. My comedy tastebuds are watering. If that's not to mix too many metaphors.

Excellent.

It sounds brilliant, can't wait.
I do love the name Miss Tightclench.

Think I've already seen some videos with her in.

On 'specialist' websites, not quite like this one?

Aww, shame it's not the actual BE...

Still, exciting news though.

Aaron - where did you hear that it's airing Christmas Eve?

Too expensive to carry off?

I don't recall, why?

Too expensive to carry off?

I'm not sure what I'm allowed to say so I'll play safe: I doubt that that's the reason.

Looks like something to look forward to.

I don't recall, why?

Just that the guide and news stories about the show all say it will launch on Christmas Eve yet reading the BBC press release and other site's articles, there is no mention of an air date apart from Christmas. I thought maybe you had inside information?

Plenty of inside information. :) You'll notice that our news story was published the evening before the press release was released, 48 hours earlier than had been planned...

We never publish anything we're not confident of.

It's the norm, but it's not the law.

Why is there only a 'christmas special' and 3 episodes of series 1?

I thought 6 episodes was the British norm for a series of comedy?

https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/bleak_old_shop_of_stuff/episodes/

When you get a cast like this show has then you probably won't have the time or money to get 6 episodes from them.

I'm not sure what I'm allowed to say so I'll play safe: I doubt that that's the reason.

Does that mean you know the real reason? It does seem that transferring radio episodes of Bleak Expectations to telly would be expensive, given that usually each episode is an unconnected story and there would be an endless number of special effects. Make sense to me.

Perhaps it's something about not being able to get the cast of the radio show?
