King Street Junior

I've just listened to an episode of this on Radio 7. Having looked into the series a bit more, it seems amazing that it is not better known or that the series has never been released commercially. It ran for 10 series, had a spin-off which ran for four series, totaling over 90 episodes, which for a radio sitcom which ran between the 1980s and the 2000s seems staggering.

Does anyone know more about it?

I've caught bits of it waiting for Comedy Controllers to start. Safe, comfortable listening that grew into a habit for a lot of people, sort of The Archers with chalk and blackboard dusters.

I've been listening to it since it started repeating on BBC Radio 7. Wonderful radio. James Grout is a very good as the head teacher. Peter Davidson was in the first couple series but left.
