Although I'm not living and never have lived in Britain I know a lot about British comedy, but still, could use some help unearthing some pearls...

I'll look into all those, and expect even more suggestions. I suppose in terms of TV there aren't a lot of things I don't already know, but in terms of radio and audiobooks I'm pretty sure you can surprise me!

I'm looking for brainy and surreal stuff and want to avoid easy and vulgar

The radio sitcom Bleak Expectations is very popular at the moment.

The stand-up/sketch show Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle is also very good IMO.
