The walk-on weirdo does seem popular with US sit-coms.
Another one that' springs to mind is Carlton the unseen doorman in Rhoda.

Super Hans in Peep Show?

Laughing out loud I thought the same thing!

Also, Dobby on Whites. Or is she Dobby in Peep Show and some other name in Whites? My mind forgets these things...

Enn Reitel as the strange science-fictiony Starkey in One Foot in the Grave's 1990 Christmas episode. If any of you have watched you would have seen him telling the time with his brain, waiting for gods and holding a gun. When Pippa comes in, he gives her a gun and then has some of fit and pops loads of balloons!!!

Don't know if he counts as weird but I love the cameos of Eli in LOTSW.

Facing the wrong way feeding the ducks was classic !

Hi, buyon, nice to see you back. But - spaces after full stops. I know we've talked about it before.
