Why is this being broadcast on BBC Three instead of BBC Two? Surely Catherine Johnson proved herself as a writer? If it gets taken up will it still be on BBC Three?

Presumably because it was BBC Three who commissioned it for BBC Three's drama pilots season, not BBC Two.

No idea who the writer is, but BBC Three isn't some kind of purgatory. It's a channel of its own accord.

Also plenty of BBC3 shows transfer to either 1 or 2. And sometimes it's good if a show can develop away from the harsh scrutiny of one of the more watched channels.
