CBBC: New Stories for the Next Generation Page 12

Do Screenplay Productions read any kind of script? Like any genre or media?

I doubt I'll send my CBBC script in cos I want to develop it a bit but I've got a few things that might have potential.

They're primarily looking for comedy. Sitcoms in particular.

Or, regarding the CBBC stuff, comedy-drama, but with more of a focus on comedy.

So... in a nutshell... comedy.

But be prepared to have your script pulled apart as Jan Jung is brutally honest. He says it how it is. :)
Whether he likes it or not, he will take time to tell you what works and what doesn't.

LoL, that's very scary :) but can't wait for some reason Unimpressed

Never mind all that, does he stump up any wedge and make things?

:D

:D

Well, he's taking two of my scripts (one radio sitcom / one TV script) to meetings with other producers, so I take it he's after some kind of co-production deal.
I wish I could answer your question fully, Marc, but that's as far as I've got so far.

Show us the money. That's my mantra!

:D

With a co-pro deal, I'm sure he's after co-funding.

He's a good chap with good contacts. For example, my radio sitcom is being taken to a biggie prodco who makes a lot of radio stuff for Radio 4, as well as a shedload of TV.

He's like an agent then?

No, he's a prodco seeking other prodcos to coprod.

Presumably, if all goes well with my radio project, the funding/production/whatever will be shared by Screenplay and the "prodco that can not be named."

So it will be a Screenplay and ***insert name here*** production.

Just like that Jack Offline live show is a Ladma/Screenplay production.

This is all I know so far.

So would he be hands on producing, i.e choosing actors directors etc, as I imagine that would be done by the prod co that dare not say its name? In which case he would be a bit like an agent taking his cut financially, although maybe more than they would, or would the prod co that dare not say its name be paying him in a separate deal so youwould get the fee as normal.

Talking of the Jack thing, I'm presuming he didn;t direct the clip we saw?

Questions, questions, questions.

No one expects the Scaninavian Acquisition!

:)

lol :P

We've been down the old Jan Jung road before!

"We've been down the old Jan Jung road before!"

What do you mean? Is it worth sending him anything?

Read through both threads and decide for yourself.

Mind you, no harm done if you do.

Both threads? I was only reading this one :O

Also, I get pretty pissed off with forums in general so I don't look at every thread :(
