Are comedy programmes better than the news?

...............eg more like real life. :)

Rather depends on what you mean by 'better'. I've seen complicated concepts simplified and explained much more clearly on panel shows than during news bulletins. Some comedies are even more biased than the news, others balance out by mocking the stance of both sides in any given story. The news generally explains stories with more background depth, but comedy can make them more accessible. If you want to find out what's going on in the world, read a newspaper. If you want to laugh, watch a sitcom. Not vice versa.

Fair enough Aaron if you accept the numbers given to us by politicians. I've always considered that the years starting with a 2 were complete invention.

The News is all death, war, murder, paedos, disease and the xfactor

so I'd steer clear
