Dad's Army quiz book

Hi Everyone

I am new to this forum and would like to tell you about my new quiz book is out now on Amazon, it has 300 questions on the actors, locations, film and TV series Dad's Army. Do you remember the popular 1970s British comedy series, Dad's Army? Can you recall the unforgettable characters who made audiences across the UK laugh out loud with their antics in the Home Guard? Is it one of your favourite TV shows from years gone past? If so, you won't want to be without The Dad's Army Quiz Book.

Kind regards to all Caroline

You probably won't be back to read this but I have read a number of Dad's Army books and have all the information I require to answer any question.

You have not produced anything new, you have not been authorised, you are trying to make money off the back of the writers, actors and production staff and (finally) you have produced a product that no one wants or needs.

Her post at least feeds my curiosity about "Dad's Army". I haven't watched a full episode of it yet. But the good things I read about in these threads and even such blatant plugs as this make me think about buying a complete box set I saw in internet stores (although the same goes for the Yes Minister set).
Question: Is £31 a good price for a 14 discs complete box set?

I would say so.

£31 is not at all bad, Gordon.

But wouldn't you say that £23 is even better?

Why are you talking to us as if we're mentally ill? This is The British Comedy Guide. Of course we remember 'the popular 1970s' British comedy series, Dad's Army'. Now f**k off.

Here's a couple off the top of my head:

What fish does The German U-boat commander order in the 'Deadly Attachment'?

What's the name of Mainwaring's principal military rival?

Who's the bagpipe player in the Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard?

Thanks to Google even I could answer these questions which makes this book even more useless...and Will Cam ;)

And you're right. It's like going to a porn shoot and trying to sell a sex education book to the team.

I believe the answer to all of those questions is,

your mum.

Not entirely fair. The internet renders almost any kind of quiz book useless. The idea is not that you play a quiz game with an unending reference work right at hand. ;)

*shakes fist at Gordon Pirate then finds himself agreeing wholeheartedly.

That Will Cam, what a twat!

Hi everyone,
I did come back to read the posts, The book is written for those who do not know the info behind Dad's Army and those who wish to have a Quiz night perhaps, where you will have all the answers on hand.

Sorry to disappoint you but I have met the cast of Dad's Army and been in contact with Jimmy Perry, and Pam Cundell wrote these words for me after reading the book: "This book is absolutely wonderful, a wonderful read, all the things you wanted to know about the cast of Dad's Army are there. I enjoyed every word of it and what is more it is a must for every Quiz Master. Do read it, it is wonderful."

Thank you Pam. I think we may have got off on the wrong foot, as I said I am new to forums and if this was incorrect for me 'plug' my book here then please accept my apology.

Regards
Caroline

Sorry, I didn't mean this post to sound that negative. It wasn't a nice way to meet a new member. Welcome to the site Console
