Channel 4's Funny Fortnight

This season of comedy shows starts on Channel 4 on 16th August.

There's certainly a lot of new shows on, a list of which can be seen here. There are other shows too - there's another Alan Carr's Summertime Specstacular, and the TV debut of Peter Kay's Tour That Didn't Tour - Tour and their online Comedy Blaps.

Also there are several late-night repeats. Shows mentioned so far include Green Wing, Brass Eye, The Comic Strip Presents and obscure Vic and Bob sitcom pilot The Weekenders.

Really??

That's great... I was waiting for it!

Thanks!

Was it just Bad Sugar which got a series commisioned from the pilots?

No, it looks like Lucky Sexy Winners has been picked up too.

We're expecting at least three commissions. I'm guessing Verry Terry will be one of them.

Any news on whether Toast Of London has been picked up? I thought this was easily the best of the pilots that I saw.

Bad Sugar had a great cast but did nothing for me.

Finally got around to watching Toast after lagging behind. It was quite funny, but like you I could see bags of potential in it, I hope it gets picked up.

I did notice that the theme and instrumental music was a variant on this riff, off Mr Berry's recent album:
