I suspect that thee royal estates pay more in tax in total, than is spent on the Royal family.

Yes, all those swathes of land and property that they "earned" through their own hard graft and benevolence.

Tim, I really imagine you to be like your avatar, sort of camp and bitchy, imagine my chagrin then, to discover our exchanges have not been 'tongue in cheek'
At no time was I reffering to you personally, I get cross about the NHS in general. This probabley stems from suffering a couple of serious illnesses, and not recieving any efficient 'follow up' treatment excetara.

Errr So Tim, please don't flounce off, as I do enjoy your posts! x :)

Probably doled out by William the Conqueror around 1067 :)

But this lot inherited it didn't they; have you or your family never inherited anything?

Have I missed something but wtf is New Year to do with the Post Office ?

Home insurance innit. Trying to make people worried they'll break stuff by celebrating so they give their money to this particular post office scheme rather than spending it on food and drink they've saved up for. Arseholes.

Damn, I get angry after midnight!

:) Message to Godot, I bet you are chuffed Cavendish won the Sports personality award!!!

I certainly am Dellas. It would have been a farce if he hadn't won. As well as being the best living British athlete and the greatest British road cyclist of all time he is also astonishingly humble and magnanimous - a fantastically worthy winner. They should make him his own trophy.

If I'm going to pay that much for a house I want it to sit on hundreds of acres of land. And have a swimming pool. And a basketball court. And a tennis court. And a bowling alley. And a rifle range.

The only problem is it would involve living in Texas
