Comedy you want to like, but don't Page 8

Gavin & Stacey (Hate James Corden)
The Royle Family (Ricky Tomlinson's nose knocks me sick)

knocks me sick

Not heard that term before! What does it mean?

Scott thingy versus the world

What's its charm?? I paid to watch it on pay per view and gave up.
And have tried watching it since, it's the most obvious, clumsy and charmless film ever.

Barry off EastEnders is Gervais' finest comedy creation by a country mile.

Barry from EastEnders, Les Dennis and Keith Chegwin. Gervais and Merchant are geniuses.

The Barry stuff was very funny indeed.
But the country mile suggests that he generally isn't quite your cup of tea Aaron.

I don't know if I've been on this thread already, but If I have then I bet it was about Green Wing.

I'll add the Mighty Boosh.

Both of which I've watched & quite enjoyed but have never felt compelled to watch any more.

Open All Hours.
I don't mind it, but with Barker and Jason in it, I want to Laughing out loud but at best I'm :). Such a drop in quality of humour from Porridge that it almost leaves me with a :( .

I also found Green Wing aimlessly weird.

So did I. I couldn't include it here because I wanted to hate it and I most certainly did. :)

The Thick Of It.

Mitchell & Webb sketch shows! Oh my God, they should be excellent. But, but, I have rarely raised a smile when watching their sketches. It frustrates me so much because the humour and directions they take with it are right up my street. But it just doesn't work for me, at all.

Curb Your Enthusiasm

Loved Seinfeld, but this just goes right over my head.

Agree with the above.
Perhaps, I've lost my sense of humour, but I can't watch any of these.

If you're not into gaming and obscure comics then the film will be lost on you.

It tried too hard.

Whatever you make of it, Scott Pilgrim was a great adaptation of the source material. Though there are story differences, it is very definitely that comic brought to life.

Love Curb...get the Larry David humour totally and laugh a lot at that.

Never got some of the popular ones like Miranda or Shameless.

In which case the source material sucked
