Channel 4's Comedy Gala

Highlights were Sean Lock and Jason Manford (referencing his sacking over the Twitter issue).

Lowlights were Shappi Khorsandi.

Anyone else catch it?

I did and there were a few suprises.

Some I expected to be funny and were dire and some were great

Jack Whitehall who I have always wondered how he got on actually had some funny material.
Lee Evans looking decidely chubby-faced did some old routines but was great.
The Welsh bloke who rants was a miss with his vacuum sketch.

And the 'cockney' guy whose name I don't know was hilarious.

I thought he was awful. Well delivered and all that, but the actual material was cack, as usual.

Sean Lock was good.

Lock, McIntyre and Millican were all great. I lasted about 45 seconds into Jason Byrne's act before frantically searching for the fast forward button though.

I agree with Jack Whitehall being suprisingly good. Loved his bit about Come Dine with Me "where we sat ,not on a chair, but on the mouth of a porn star".

Kevin Bridges, as usual was superb.

I'm actually growing to like Jack Whitehall. He seems to be more comfortable in his comedy, so it feels less embarrassing. I also rather like his schtick of going on a huge rant and continuing through the laughter.

I only saw Sean Lock. He made me titter. As always.

James Corden in bed with Patrick Stewart was funny as well

Couldn't watch that.

Won't watch anything with that ginger prick Dermot O'Leary on.

Arse head.

I don't remember that :O, I was a bit drunk when I watched it though, I did like the teacher from Glee as a Justin Timberlake-alikey.

Just caught up with this years offering, and I have to say it was quite impressive. Great line up, Alan Carr doing Jessie J was well funny and Sean Lock was on top form, even though I'd heard some of his material before.

Reginald d Hunter was awful though, not a single joke in his entire routine. It was all 'he said this' and 'I said this'.... Yawn!

Jack Dee's 'so what?' was my favourite part. He basically told the same joke about five times but either performance\charisma or whatever, it was funny every time.

Yeah he was disappointing, and he's usually so brilliant.

I also liked the guy in the 'Two-Face' suit who did the Lucozade bit, I've never heard of him before and have even forgotten his name now!

That's Sean Walsh, I really like him too.
