Sport
Trevor's World of Sport (purely because I know no other)

The radio version of Trevor's World of Sport is actually quite good so that'd get my vote for sport - the third series is on the radio now (you can get it via the Listen Again feature on the Beeb website at the time of writing).

Other sports comedies I can think of are:
A Prince Among Men (sort of football. idea knicked off Thomps - thanks!)
The Nineteenth Hole (golf sitcom)
Mike Basset: Manager (football sitcom)
Punch Drunk (1993 boxing sitcom)
Seconds Out (1981 boxing sitcom with Robert Lindsay)
Dick Emery's Grand Prix (1 off special in the 70s)
The Mascot (Comedy Playhouse one off)
The Brittas Empire (swimming and fitness - kinda sport?)

I think there was also a sitcom starring Brian Wilde as a football referee but I can't remember its name. I think it got cancelled before it was even seen?!?

i don't know if this counts but there was a episode of rippin yarns, called golden gorden (i think) and it involved one mans beloved football team being sold to a metal scraper,
"8-1, we lost 8 bloody 1, and four of those were from backpasses"
i f*cking loved rippin yarns, especially this episode and tomkinsons school days.

Ripping! Ripping!

sorry my mistake, i can't of pressed the G button hard enough, maybe it's not working properly, i try it ggggggggg, ,,it works,

Ripping! Ripping!

Actually I think you'll find it doesn't have an exclamation mark on the end, it's simply Ripping.

Not that I'm being petty, that would just be crazy...

Anyway, my choices are

sport sitcom
trevors world of sport

pub sitcom
cheers

flat share sitcom
mr don and mr george

medical sitcom
only when i laugh

religion based sitcom
father ted

Is that the two from Absolutely?

The very same, brilliant spin-off sitcom, especially the first episode "you can run but you can't hide your legs"

sport sitcom
?

pub sitcom
Early Doors

flat share sitcom
Seinfeld (I know they dont share the flat, but they are always there) If that doesnt count then..Peep Show

medical sitcom
Hmm, I can only think of Scrubs and Green Wing at the minute and I dont like Green Wing and haven't seen enough of Scrubs to make an opinion

religion based sitcom
Father Ted

i kind of prfer vicar of dibly to father ted, in the religeon based section, i'm also not a big fan of green wing so scrubs wins that early doors, men behaving badly win through, i have a new flat share favorite, not going out, i loved the pace and some of the jokes were just clever.
