The Pall Bearer's Revue

Anyone a fan of Jerry Sadowitz's seemingly long-forgotten five-part comedy series? Apparently, at the time, it garnered the highest number of complaints the BBC ever received and so they relegated it to a graveyard timeslot and have refused to ever re-air it or release it on home video/DVD. I find that all a bit harsh to be honest. I've seen the full five part series and I can't say it was all that offensive compared to what we are seeing on TV these days. The BBC need to get it out on DVD, Sadowitz will earn some money off it and maybe pull in some new fans.

I've yet to see but I really want to. I hope the Beeb change their mind.

It was good it was funny it was dark beyond belief.

But a sketch that has the punchline.

No you can't have a council house.

Will never see the light of day.

Shame.

I watched this series as a teenager, loved it.

Am I misremembering, or was this the series with oddly prescient statement "The Pope -- what a c**t."?

(it could have been Mother Teresa)

Mother Teresa would never have said that.

I seem to recall this being a pretty disappointing show, with Sadowitz far too restrained by the channel and slot. I do, however, fondly remember the philisophical comedians sketch.
