Current radio comedy

I'm only just getting into listening to Radio 4 and Radio 7. I've always thought of myself as a TV man rather than a radio listener however I've just discovered The Now Show for example and think that's great.

Really appreciate any tip offs as to current funny radio shows I might be missing.

I've been a bit naughty and failed to listen to much radio over the past year, but I used to listen to shows like "Clare in the Community" and so on (Radio 4), as well as Radio 7's gems. ("Hancock's Half Hour" being a prime example!)

I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue is also pretty damn good!

If you're an I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue fan, then you may like to know that the spin-off series Hamish and Dougal is returning on Radio 4, on Thursday 24th August at 11pm.

You may also be interested in Serious About Comedy, a comedy talk show on BBC7, Friday at 8:30am, 10pm and Saturday at 3am.

Yes, Serious About Comedy is pretty good. :) Dire reviews of that "Little Miss Jocelyn" sketch show last night!

Repeats of knowing me, knowing you…with Alan Partridge on BBC7 always worth a listen also check out World of Pubs with John Thomson And Phil Cornwell (also BBC7)

Yeah, there are a few good shows repeated on BBC7. Another one is Absolute Power starring Stephen Fry and John Bird. Tamsin Greig also appears throughout the second series. It is on Thursdays at 8:30am, 10pm and Fridays at 3am.

Ah, brilliant show that. I managed to find a download source of all the radio episodes a while back (although have only listened to one), and I really love the TV series. Brilliant show! :D

Can you provide me with the link, I'd love to be able have these downloads.

The Department at 11pm on Radio 4 is worth a listen. I also like That Mitchell and Webb Sound and Bearded Ladies, but both have recently finished. Maybe they're available on the web though?

I've not looked for Bearded Ladies, but I would expect so. That Mitchell & Webb Sound is another one I've got my hands on, as I went to a recording for a couple of episodes. :)

Recommend a show called Nebulous if they ever repeat it. I thought it was xlnt.

Yeah! The Mark Gatiss show. As I called it.

Today I was doing the comedy recommendations on Serious About Comedy! Below is what I recommended.

Stand - Ross Noble & Jeremy Hardy.

TV - That Mitchell and Webb Look & QI.

Radio - The Party Line (Topical sitcom by Punt and Dennis starring James Fleet as a hapless MP.)

DVD - Green Wing Series 2 and Series 1 & 2 boxset

Internet - Newshounds (Topical webcomic set in a newsroom staffed with animals. See internet forum.)

Ah, I'll have to hunt down that episode - and The Party Line, which I keep missing. >_<

TWTTIN!

And 'Genius'.
