British Society of Comedy Writers

Has anyone been to one of their conferences? There is one on Saturday and I was anxious to find out whether is was worth the money to get in? Networking is always good I guess but in such a fiercely competitive industry is anyone really going to help out a new writer that much?
Anyway, any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Did anyone go to the conference? If so, was it worthwhile?

I used to be a member. Never been to any of the conferences, and didn't really get anything out of the society.

I used to be a member, but got very little out of it for the money you had to pay. You got sent a monthly e-mail which informed you about writing opportunities, but to be honest, in a year of recieving the e-mail, I never found it of any use what so ever. Needless to say I didnt pay up for a second year!
