On The Buses Page 5

Agreed, ITV's sitcom heyday was certainly the 1970s. As criticised as 1970s ITV sitcoms are, I'd rather watch an episode of On The Buses which was shown on ITV in the 1970s than watch a documentary a super-human or somebody who is 80 stone or a programme worrying me to death about a serious illnesses that I have the symptons to, that ITV only ever tend to show. Oh well, I still watch Coronation Street, the best thing on ITV at the minute.

Oh - definitely agreed. But I'd rather listen to some music.

Almost certainly, yes. :)

Here! here! Leonard Rossiter was fantastic as Rigsby, classic british sitcom!

Rossiter- legend. What about the Rising Damp episode where a tempory tennant went upon the roof and intended to commit suicide. Whilst this poor suicidal man was up at the top intending to jump off, Rigsby asked him before he jumped could he adjust the TV ariel. Classic. Rigsby was just great, such a loveable charactor despite on paper being shocking. Well he was in the great hands of Mr Rossiter.

Just out of interest - why have we got two threads on On The Buses?

That's about right - two come along at once!

:)

Because whoever made the second one, didn't see the first.

Laughing out loud

I blame that Jack Massey.

Or the moderators. Are they paying attention?

That's right, blame the United fan.

The spin-off Don't Drink The Water is under petition to go on DVD. Please sign it. I would be great to increase the number of signatures and increase the chance of release. Even if you think you are not going to buy it, please for sitcom archive sake sign. If it does get released, I will personally BUY a copy for the COMPETITION SECTION on the site. http://www.petitiononline.com/ddtw/
PLEASE PLEASE

I think it's got a fairly high chance of release.

Make it a higher chance. Have you signed the petition? I remember a good 18 months ago, I signed some petition for your good self.
Interesting picture for DDTW on the shows review. Not seen that one anywhere.

I caught some of an episode of OTB this morning on ITV3, it was one of episodes from Series 7 without Reg Varney in it.

For some reason Blakey kept calling Jack 'Arthur' anyone know why?
It was confusing me and the wife no end.

He isn't calling him Arthur he's calling him 'Harper' which is Jack's surname.

I had the same confusion.
